ABOUT

Music is forever moving into the unknown but the core remains the

same. That is where I am. Jumping into festivals of all types

throughout the United Kingdom, showing minds the meaning of

progress in front of proud friends and parents or entertaining

palaces in the great deserts of Egypt with an enormous sun

setting over river Nile. What a truly phenomenal journey! This

space is where i will present the next phase of creativity. Please

stay tuned as the site grows.

As a South-African, I headed to the UK immediately succeeding

my beautiful high school, Stanford Lake College. Backpacking

with my guitar for a year, I decided to join the Guitar Institute of

Live Work:

Although I began later then most in Britain for live work, I was blessed with a very experienced band that pushed me onto the front line of music, the stage. Very Lucky! So many gigs I cannot explain, the integrity of this team has given me the ability to present myself with over a hundred shows a year, for the past 8 years. Trust me, there are thousands of tiny adjustments required by single great artist, standing in front of you with a single instrument and a single mic and nothing but the selves to offer. If one does not learn from that one gig, then they would never have even gotten there in the first place. I have rocked the punks at every muddy night and soothed the tanned tourist with background acoustics on the beaches of the Red Sea.

My band wrote an album in record time, even with our lives in the way, it took less then 3 months. Recording was even more staggering, only 4 days to complete!  It is definitely possible to make a fun, meaningful and very strong album these days, with great quality and great musicians. Do not let the science of the studio confuse you, in there its still only music. Enjoy, I am on guitar and backing vocals.

Tutor:

Teaching professionally since 2006, guiding students privately throughout London as well stepping in at The Academy of Music and Sound in Hitchin for exam periods. My students have a 100% pass rate in the Rockschool syllabus for electric and acoustic exams, the majority achieving distinction-level marks. My teaching style is practical, with a view to achieving healthy techniques and skills, this will equip students to enjoy the versatility of their favored music genres. They are encouraged to develop their own opinions on how to manipulate musical elements and given the opportunity to explore alternatives as I show a display of all music genres and techniques.

Being  fortunate to study under some of the great guitar educators including Shaun Baxter, Lee Hodgson and Ben Badenhorst to name a few, so drawing from these experiences, as well as my own research to enrich lessons. My students range form 7 to 70, now teaching in south-east London from my home studio or can travel to the students location.

Thanks for taking the time here, keep rocking, keep moving forward.

Then went straight into the Bmus degree of the same expertise, at West London University.
